These are a select amount of embodied practice pieces that i’ve been engaging with, in each I am following specific types of framing, styles, gestures, poses, edits and expressions that I identified in my ethnographic observations.
My findings are particularly focused in the smartphone and it’s functions becoming an extension of my body – I am so unaware of it as a separate entity. In addition to this, it’s functions and therefore the space (Instagram) has also become an extension of me.
Through combining this type of research with my literary analysis and other methods, I really am moving more towards this as a type of dress. The fact I am consciously performing allows to me pick apart and analyse what would otherwise be unconscious gestures and feelings.
