To keep my project in keeping within the current context of fashion, I keep being drawn to fashion showcasing. I explored this a to in the last unit, however I thought that I could perhaps use my film/event as an innovative version of fashion showcasing – I could look into this with having a designer showcase the collection in the various scenes of the film.
I like the individual combined with collective aspect of fashion and fashion shows are a huge societal part of the fashion industry so I think this could tie in really well.
As I’ve been reading lots about Affect theory and physical senses, this Balenciaga show really struck me as they released various scents into the audience and constructed the set around them to affect feelings.
I’ve spent the week watching fashion shows and how they’ve evolved across the last few decades. This could be something of interest and I will bear it in mind.
