Andrew Tollinton gave an inspiring webinar about how to give a pitch, as this is one of the outcomes of this unit, I was very interested to learn this technique. Andrew made a few interesting points in terms of pitching online and also some techniques.
- Pitching Online – audience are less trusting, content is more important, technical – fire alarms and wifi pitfalls.
- Angle the camera above eye-line, blue light and good microphone.
Andrew also introduced different types of pitch, reliant on length and situation (if the audience are already aware of what you are pitching or not).
I will use the following pitch structures to compose and deliver my pitch.
Pitch structure: story model (give audience a place in the world, use time, back in time to orient our audience, talk about the problem, we are the solution to the problem)
