In addition to Pipilotti Rist, the above album is something which really inspired me when I heard it.
Inspired by film soundtracks, evoking childhood nostalgia and using drums that drew from hip-hop this album is a playfully dark. The way texture is built with combinations of electronic swarms and warped synth sounds, is reminiscent of ghostly soundtracks and eerie cries in nature. This is the example I have sent to my sound designer, along with Pipilotti Rist’s work.
