I’ve been aware that I’m struggling to really push myself with this unit in terms of research and development since my tutorial with Vicky and suddenly it came to me – I need to do a residency at the swimming baths! In occupying the space for extended periods of time I will be able to immerse myself in the building, making observations of the people, sounds and actions that go on there. I will plan this in more detail but my immediate thoughts are to research the history of swimming baths, rituals involving water and also observe how the space is occupied in an ethnographic type of way.
