The Grand Budapest Hotel – framing reference.

Scene from ‘Grand Budapest Hotel’ Wes Anderson

I have began to look at the ways of shooting my experimental film. Symmetry and front on framing is something I am very interested in. Directors such as Wes Anderson use this as a key aspect in the way they shoot.

It is similar to the way a classical painting is constructed, particularly portraiture. As I am heavily inspired by traditional paintings and how women are represented in them as well as themes of identity and the body, I think this type of cinematic framing is very important.
