Wes Anderson’s film sets.

As I have began looking specifically at sets, particularly elaborate ones, Wes Anderson is the obvious director to explore as he uses vibrant colours, symmetry and sets the scene within beautiful architectural environments.

The Darjeeling Limited (2007)

Set on a train journeying through North India. Eastern architecture and landscapes.

Castello Cavalcanti (2013)

Set in a small Italian village in the 1950’s. Traditional Italian cinematography and fluorescent lighting.

Hotel Chevalier (2007)

Set in a colour coordinated Parisian Hotel Room.

Moonrise Kingdom (2012)

Set on an Island In New England in 1965. Dreamlike pastel summer quality.

The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)

Set in a cluttered elaborate house with a stylised vintage aesthetic.

The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)

Set in an Art Deco Palace in Germany. Vibrant Candy Pink and Plush Red interiors.
